ABOUT IRENE HEALEY,AOCA,BSc.AAM,CCA

Irene Healey is a visual artist with a second degree in Medical Art from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine. Her medical art education included the Meds Gross Anatomy and Histology. For over 20 years, Ms. Healey has maintained a clinical practice as a Certified Clinical Anaplastologist, working directly with patients who are missing a part of their body and through this she developed an unparalleled expertise in the design and fabricate of various types of silicone soft tissue prostheses.

New Attitude’s focus has shifted to mass market scalable devices with a primary focus is on Women’s Heath and FemTech as these areas have historically received less research and less innovation.

why new attitude

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

New Attitude’s history is based on a medical artist’s curiosity and openness to finding new solutions and developing new technologies in response to the needs of patients. After years of working with patients missing a part of their anatomy, due to a disease such as cancer, Ms Healey witnessed that the response to having a well-crafted and aesthetically prosthetic device went beyond just the restoration of appearance and function.  The attention to detail and the aesthetic quality of fabrication provided an empathetic response to the trauma that the patient had experienced which in itself was curative. Thus was born the field of Curative Aesthetics ™

An exceptional women and Artist. I found Irene on line and quickly became excited at the prospect of working with her. The weeks with her as she created Prosthetics for me were exciting and healing. I was transformed. Irene has a calm quiet caring way and goes to great lengths to ensure an exceptional outcome. Her desire to fine tune and expand her art will be an exciting adventure to be a part of.
